Caritas of Austin is seeking to fill the following positions:
Employment Specialist
The Education Specialist is responsible for administering the state refugee cash assistance program in accordance with the funding guidelines, as well as the provision of employment services to refugees, asylees, Cuban entrants and non-refugee Caritas clients.
The Education Specialist will:
- conduct intake and assessment for RCA and employment eligibility.
- set up monthly cash and vendor payments to elibgible households based on funder guidelines.
- maintain files with record of RCA intake, assessment, payments and other required documents.
- refer clients to other programs if there is unmet need.
- enter data of RCA assistance provided to each cilent
- make job referrals and employment services follow-up calls.
- coordinate client services with other Caritas programs and service providers
- maintain ongoing interactions with employers.
- enter data of client information using the state refugee database and agency databases.
- maintain client files with required forms, indivdiual service plan, case notes and client assistance check request documentation.
- perform other duties as assigned.
Experience: Bachelors/Masters Degree from an accredited college/university with a major in one or more of the following areas: social work, psychology, sociology, anthropology, education, international studies and other human service related fields.
Experience: Must have one year direct client services experience. Must have dependable transportation and have no more than three moving traffic violations in the past three years.
Skills: Must be bilingual in English and another language in the following order of importance: Burmese, Nepalese, Arabic, Spanish or French
Computer Skills: Must be computer literate
