Mission: Caritas provides
a service continuum for those experiencing poverty that begins with a
safety net and links
them to resources to achieve self-sufficiency.
Vision: Caritas envisions
a community where there is
respect for all individuals, hope for those experiencing
poverty and opportunities for self-reliance.
Clint Population: Caritas
will serve 20,000 adults
and children as Travis County’s largest source of nongovernmental
assistance for low-income families. Caritas
serves the homeless, working poor and documented refugees.
Annual Budget: Caritas’ last audit
reported that 92% of the
budget directly impacted clients.
In FY 2010, Caritas will provide...
Housing
We will prevent over 2,000 men and women from becoming homeless.
Additionally, we will assist 475 individuals and families access housing.
Food
We will provide enough take-home groceries for 70,500 meals
and serve 100,000 meals in our community kitchen.
Education
We will provide 500 classes to 400 clients
and provide refugee orientation classes to 440 refugees.
Employment
We will place 440 individuals in jobs with over 50 community businesses hiring our clients.
