The Education Program
seeks to provide Caritas clients with opportunities
to enrich their lives in order to support
each client's journey toward self-sufficiency.
The purpose of the Financial Literacy classes is to improve Caritas of Austin clients’ ability to make appropriate decisions in managing their personal finances.
The Life Skills classes are intended to provide skills to improve the abilities Caritas of Austin clients possess for the adaptive and positive behaviour necessary to enable individuals to effectively deal with the demands and challenges of everyday life.
ESL classes are offered to Caritas of Austin clients by Austin Area Interreligious MInistries. These classes are held three times a week year-round.
This 15-class series provides newly arrived refugees information on elements essential to their acculturation. Based on a social networking model, it assists refugee clients in establishing ties with public entities and with social service agencies that provide services for which they may be eligible. Refugee orientation is held during one week per month.
