Education

Caritas seeks to provide clients with opportunities to enrich their lives in order to support their self-sufficiency.

Financial Literacy Classes | to improve clients’ ability to make appropriate decisions in managing their personal finances.

Life Skills Classes | to provide skills to improve clients’ abilities to effectively deal with the demands and challenges of everyday life.

English as a Second Language (ESL) | to improve English language skills; through Austin Area Interreligious Ministries.

Refugee Orientation | to provide newly arrived refugees information on elements essential to their acculturation. Based on a social networking model, this 15 class series assists refugee clients in establishing ties with public entities and with social service agencies that provide services for which they may be eligible.

Job Readiness Classes | to provide newly arrived refugees employment related training designed to assist their job search through a preliminary understanding of US employment culture, an introduction to the job cycle, the identification of transferrable skills and familiarity with the interview process; 8 class series.
