Caritas of Austin is relentlessly committed to our vision to prevent and end homelessness in Greater Austin. If you are experiencing homelessness, the first step to accessing services is completing a Coordinated Entry survey. This tool is used by numerous community organizations and is our city's most effective way to prioritize the most vulnerable people for housing services.
To complete the Coordinated Entry, please contact ONE of the following agencies:

Downtown Austin Community Court (DACC)

For questions about Coordinated Entry or other community resources, please contact 2-1-1.
Please note: Completing a Coordinated Entry is not a guarantee of services; it's just the first step. Agencies will contact you directly if and when they have openings to serve you. You do not need to contact Coordinated Entry staff again unless your contact information or housing situation has changed, or it has been longer than 6 months from your last assessment and a housing provider has not contacted you.
Coordinated Entry FAQs
How long will completing Coordinated Entry take?
Completing Coordinated Entry can take 30-45 minutes. It is a 50-question survey to assess your current housing situation. It is helpful to have as much documentation as possible with you to reference when completing.
Am I guaranteed to get housing if I complete Coordinated Entry?
Completing Coordinated Entry is not a guarantee of services, but it is a critical first step. Together as a community, we are working diligently to end homelessness for as many people as possible, but resources are limited.
Do I get to choose which agency serves me?
The goal of Coordinated Entry is to match a person's situation and needs with the agency who has appropriate services and program openings for new enrollment.
Should I call to check back in and see where I am on the waiting list?
Coordinated Entry is not a wait list, but a tool to continually prioritize the most vulnerable people for housing services. You will be contacted when there is an available program to provide housing services. You do not need to follow up unless there has been a change to your housing situation.
