Songs of Hope

Thank you to our Honorary Chairs Rebecca & Bryan Hardeman!

Thank You for Your Support at Songs of Hope!

Songs of Hope is Caritas of Austin’s annual fall fundraising event. The concert under the stars features live music, dinner, a silent auction, a Fund The Mission opportunity, and more. 100% of funds raised stay local and are used to prevent and end homelessness for people in Greater Austin.

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, donors and attendees, the inaugural event in 2022 raised $600,000 to provide Austinites with a safe, stable and affordable place to call home!

During this year’s Songs of Hope, Jo Kathryn Quinn, President and CEO of Caritas of Austin, announced the Vision 2025 plan. By 2025, Caritas of Austin will double the number of individuals and families served and increase the organization’s service capacity. Of the 3,000 individuals experiencing homelessness in Austin, Caritas of Austin aims to provide housing services and resources to 1,260 by 2025.

This bold plan is only achievable with the support of community members. We are so humbled and thankful for the way the community expressed its commitment to partner with us through giving at Songs of Hope! Because of you, we are making homelessness rare, brief and nonrecurring in Austin!

We hope you enjoy reflecting on the night by scrolling through this photo album, and we look forward to seeing everyone at next year’s Songs of Hope!

Lifetime Achievement Award

Bryan Hardeman

Thanks to the generosity of our Honorary Chairs, Rebecca and Bryan Hardeman, $100,000 of Fund the Mission gifts were matched – dollar for dollar! 100% of Fund the Mission gifts go directly to support the mission of Caritas of Austin, preventing and ending homelessness for people in Greater Austin.

The Caritas of Austin Lifetime Achievement Award is a special honor given to a community member who, during their lifetime, has made significant contributions of outstanding philanthropic significance in ending homelessness in Austin.  These contributions include volunteerism, philanthropic donations and activism on behalf of Caritas of Austin.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Bryan Hardeman at Songs of Hope on September 15th.

Since his youth, Bryan has had a passion for helping others. A native Texan who was raised in San Angelo and a graduate of the University of Texas, Bryan began his career in commercial banking before deciding to purchase Continental Cars and go into car business, becoming the youngest authorized Mercedes-Benz and Honda dealer in the country.  Bryan has since grown Continental Cars into Continental Automotive Group, and now owns and operates several dealership and service agencies including Austin Subaru, Austin INFINITI, Mercedes-Benz of Austin, Mercedes-Benz of San Juan, First Texas Honda, Forest Lane Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Audi San Juan, Continental Collision, and Continental Insurance.

Bryan is the President of the Hardeman Family Foundation and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Austin History Center Association.   He has previously served on the Board for the Greater Austin Crime Commission, the Citizen’s Advisory Committee for Travis County Civil and Family Courts and is a member of the Airport Boulevard Advisory Group.

Though proof of Bryan’s dedication to the Austin community is not needed, it can be found spelled out in Bryan’s generous philanthropic donations to various local organizations such as SAFE Alliance and Center for Child Protection and The Ukraine Christian Relief Fund. Recent gifts include, $1 million from the Hardeman Family Foundation to the Austin History Center Association and $1 million to Angelo State University in honor of his late father, Senator Dorsey B. Hardeman.

Generosity doesn’t just stay in the Hardeman family, it extends out to the business as well.  Continental Automotive Group has a tradition of contributing back to the Austin community and provides its generous employees with channels for charitable giving. Each year a committee of employees chooses one or two non-profit organizations to support in connection with the annual holiday party, and the employees coordinate a company-wide fundraising effort. Over the years, Continental Automotive Group has invested millions of dollars towards creating positive change for us all and continues to be voted by its employees A Top Workplace in Austin. Through charitable efforts including volunteerism and donations, Continental Automotive Group and their employees support over 100 local organizations.

Caritas of Austin recognizes Bryan Hardeman for his commitment to leading by example and creating a more vibrant Austin for all and is proud to present him with the Caritas of Austin Lifetime Achievement Award.
