Veterans Assistance

We believe in building stronger futures for veterans who have served and protected our country.

A Home for All Veterans

We believe that men and women who have served our country should never experience homelessness. Since 2011, Caritas of Austin has been a leader in the local efforts to end veteran homelessness. Through strong collaboration with city leaders, the real estate community, and local service providers, we are proud our city now has the capacity and a system to end chronic homelessness for all veterans and house veterans rapidly if they lose their housing.

Veterans experience homelessness at disproportionately high rates due to the difficult transition from military to civilian life. Caritas of Austin’s Supportive Services for Veteran Families program (SSVF) is designed to end homelessness for veteran families and build holistic wellbeing through temporary financial assistance, employment support, budgeting, and assistance obtaining VA and other eligible benefits.

There are not words to express how much the Caritas team means. I don’t know where we would be without them.
