Program Eligibility FAQs
To be eligible for Caritas of Austin’s Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- Reside in Travis, Williamson, or Bastrop County
- Currently experiencing homelessness
- Have a household income less than 30% of the Area Median Income (AMI)
- Be a member of a Veteran family (single individual or multi-person household)
- Have a discharge status other than dishonorable
If you fit the criteria above, please complete Coordinated Entry as a first step to accessing our Veterans services.
Lunch is served daily in our Community Kitchen from 11:00am - 12:30pm, thanks to the support of community volunteers. Vegetarian and vegan options are available upon request.
Our Pantry is only available for clients already enrolled in one of our housing or refugee resettlement programs. Clients are able to access the Caritas Pantry up to 10 times while in services.
Caritas of Austin’s employment services are only available to current Caritas of Austin clients.
Caritas of Austin does not provide rental assistance, utility assistance, or bus passes independent of case management services. Please contact 2-1-1 to learn about community organizations that can provide assistance.
Unlike our downtown location, Caritas North services are by appointment only.

Caritas of Austin does not accept clothing donations. We encourage donating to St. Vincent de Paul Store, who generously donate vouchers to Caritas of Austin clients.
